Golden Age Musical Class: 

Step into the sparkle, style, and storytelling of Broadway's Golden Age in this fun and energetic musical theatre class. Students will explore the legendary shows and creators that helped shape American musical theatre, learning about the history, performance style, and lasting influence of this iconic era. From big ensemble numbers to heartfelt solos and classic scenes, this class brings the magic of vintage Broadway to life.

Throughout the course, students will train in the acting, singing, and dance styles of the time while discovering how those techniques still connect to modern musical theatre performance today. They'll build strong performance skills, develop character work, and gain a deeper appreciation for the artists who created these timeless classics.

Along the way, students may explore musicals such as Oklahoma!, The Sound of Music, Carousel, Guys and Dolls, South Pacific, The King and I, My Fair Lady, and Singin' in the Rain. At the end of the class, performers will take the stage to share songs, dances, and scenes from some of these beloved classics in a joyful final performance.

 

Playwriting: 

Students in our Playwriting class will move from spark to stage as they learn the full creative process of developing an original play. They’ll begin by exploring how to generate compelling ideas, study influential works from established playwrights, and understand the essential elements that make a script successful structure, character development, dialogue, pacing, and thematic clarity.

Through guided workshops, students will draft scenes, receive constructive feedback, and refine their writing in a supportive, collaborative environment. Ample revision time is built into the course so each student can strengthen the collaborative script and bring their vision to life.

By the end of the session, the students will have a polished, performance ready play that will be showcased in our end-of-class showcase, giving them the invaluable experience of seeing their work performed on stage.
