About
Consider This
Community theatre since 2009
Consider This Theatre Company began as a vacation bible school troupe at Smyrna Church of Christ many years ago. It was founded by Barry Hardy. The group became a 501(c)3 community theatre organization in 2009. Performances were held at Smyrna Church of Christ, the home of Barry Hardy, and the 15th floor of the Regions Bank building in Murfreesboro, before moving into a small space on Park Avenue. Shortly after CT moved across the street into what it called the Swan Performing Arts Center, after the Swanson company that owned the facility. This was our home through spring of 2012. After attendance failed to grow enough, the lease was terminated.

After a two year hiatus, Consider This returned in 2014, performing at the Smyrna Rescue Squad building (2014 - 2015), the community center in Winfield, Alabama (2014 and 2015), the Haynes family barn (2015), The Smyrna Train Depot (2016), The Grove Church (2016 - 2017), and the former Joywood Cumberland Presbyterian Church facility (2017 - Present). In 2018 we began leasing the Joywood building full time and in 2020, Tyson Pate completed the purchase of the property to be a full time performance venue, dubbed the Mills-Pate Arts Center, named after his grandparents.
